The Detroit Lions lost by three points on Sunday.
They chose not to take two field goals and went for it on fourth down twice instead.
The Lions went 1-for-3 on fourth down overall, and that over-aggressive game plan may have cost them the game.
Nonetheless, when asked about that, Jared Goff admitted that he loves that play-calling and decision-making, not questioning Dan Campbell’s reasoning at all (via Yahoo Sports).
“I love em,” Goff said when asked about the fourth down attempts.

Of course, everybody wants to see that kind of stuff.
It’s nice to see NFL coaches going for it more often.
Still, sometimes, it might be better to just take the points.
It’s easier to say those things in hindsight after it’s all said and done, but the Lions were 7.5-point underdogs on the road and playing against the most stacked team in the league, so perhaps they could’ve chosen to play it a little safer.
Then again, the Lions made it to the NFC Championship Game playing that way, so why fix what’s not broken?
Dan Campbell is a young head coach who’s still learning the ropes of the game, and he’s going to learn from his mistakes.
He’s shown the utmost confidence in his offense over and over, and that has also galvanized some big plays throughout the course of the season, and it’s one of the reasons why they would all run through a brick wall for their coach.
