The 2023-24 NBA regular season hasn’t gone as planned for two of the most successful franchises in the league, with the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers struggling to hover around .500.
Even though the season seems to be heading toward a disappointing end for both of these storied franchises, as many don’t consider them to be title contenders at this point, these two teams put on a show recently at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
It was the start of a six-game road trip for the Lakers, and the team was hoping to get off to a strong start away from Crypto.com Arena, but Stephen Curry and company weren’t going down without a fight.
Ultimately, this game between the Lakers and Warriors went into double overtime, with LeBron James and company coming out on top by one point in the end due to some clutch free throws from the four-time NBA champion.
In the aftermath of a very entertaining game in the Bay Area, Kendrick Perkins compared seeing these two teams go head-to-head to going to Disney World via NBA on ESPN.
“When it comes down to Bron and Steph matching up, it’s like Disney World,” Perkins said.

That’s a pretty apt description for the game between these iconic franchises, with some legendary players leading the way in Curry, James, Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Even though it was a competitive game and one of the best of the regular season thus far in terms of entertainment, it’s uncertain what the immediate future holds for the Lakers and Warriors, as many believe both teams need to make a trade to get back on track in the Western Conference.
