The Minnesota Timberwolves are the best team in the Western Conference right now.
They earned that honor by taking down the red-hot Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in a much-anticipated rematch.
To make it even more impressive, they did it despite not getting a lot of love from the referees, at least, according to Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards.
Following the game, the former No. 1 pick was livid at the officials, stating that he wouldn’t mind taking the fine by calling them out (via ClutchPoints).
“Imma take this fine, but the refs did not give us no calls tonight,” Edwards said.

Edwards said that he didn’t know how they managed to win that game because the referees didn’t give them a single call, adding that they had to play through every bump and every grab.
The Timberwolves went to the line 15 times, with the Thunder getting 22 free throws, so the disparity wasn’t that big in this game.
This isn’t the first time that Edwards addressed this matter when facing off with the Thunder.
He claimed that it was impossible to guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander because they couldn’t touch him without sending him to the line, questioning some of the calls he got in their loss earlier in the campaign.
Needless to say, this is becoming one of the brewing rivalries in the league, and everybody loves it when two young studs like them start feuding.
It’s still early in the season, but these two teams continue to impress, and this may have been a potential postseason series preview.
Also, this could become the league’s next rivalry for years to come, and we’re all in for that.
