After a dominant 2023 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens’ year ended in disappointment as they lost at home to the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend in the AFC Championship Game.

The Ravens came into the afternoon as favorites, but the moment seemed too big for them as they committed several ill-time penalties and mistakes that allowed the Chiefs to take control of the game.

It was a low-scoring affair as the two teams combined for just 27 points, with Baltimore being the only one to score points in the second half.

However, the Ravens could’ve made it a game had they not made some crucial mistakes down the stretch.

Baltimore committed five personal foul penalties that cost them 75 yards, while a fumble from Zay Flowers and an interception from Lamar Jackson killed any momentum for their comeback attempt.

Richard Sherman broke down the game and explained that those mistakes can’t happen in games that are so close and competitive via The Volume.

“In a game of this magnitude that’s this tight, you can’t have it,” Sherman said.

Jackson has been questioned throughout the years for his postseason letdowns and he’s going to be heavily criticized for this performance.

Meanwhile, Flowers’ youth showed up on the field as he picked up a taunting penalty after making a spectacular grab down field that ruined a perfect touchdown opportunity.

The Ravens should walk into the 2024 NFL season as one of the favorites again, but there will definitely be more questions about their chances of winning their first Super Bowl in over a decade.
