The 2023 NFL season is coming to a close as Super Bowl LVIII is set between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
It’s a Super Bowl LIV rematch as the Chiefs beat the 49ers four years ago to capture their first title in the Patrick Mahomes era.
San Francisco had to overcome feisty teams in the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, while Kansas City’s path to Super Bowl LVIII required wins over the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens.
The Chiefs and 49ers will have two weeks to prepare for the highly-anticipated matchup and it should be an electric matchup between the two.
The waiting period between the AFC and NFC title games always feels long, but Dan Patrick had a suggestion for the league when it comes to Super Bowl scheduling via The Dan Patrick Show.
“Something to think about when the Super Bowl is played…if we have two weeks in between conference title games and the Super Bowl, how about we play the Super Bowl on the Saturday instead of the Sunday two weeks after the AFC and NFC title games?” Patrick asked.

Patrick’s suggestion was well-received by his showmates and it’s an intriguing idea.
With the Super Bowl on Sunday, it gives fans and players not a lot of time to celebrate, but as Patrick points out a Saturday game would allow for more festivities and time to recover the next day.
It remains to be seen if the league would ever consider such a change, but it’s something that would be welcomed by most fans.
