For the second consecutive year, the Kansas City Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs pulled off another impressive road victory as they beat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game for the right to defend their Super Bowl crown.

In what some thought might be a high-scoring affair turned into a defensive battle as both teams didn’t give up much in the second half.

However, it was Kansas City that prevailed because of their 17 first-half points and their defense holding Baltimore to just three points in the fourth quarter.

For all the talk about the Chief’s offense, Mahomes and company still find ways to win games.

After several disappointing performances in the 2023 NFL season, David Carr argued that this year was Mahomes’ most valuable season via NFL Total Access.

“And they were never at any point the best team in the league but Pat continued to will them to victory,” Carr said.

Mahomes had to shoulder more of the offensive burden this year because of the unusual lack of experience and talent in the wide receiver room.

Travis Kelce also looked a step slower in the regular season, though he has turned back the clock during the postseason.

There were several games Kansas City lost due to mishaps from the receivers, but so far they’ve held up well and have risen to the occasion when it’s time to make a play.

It’s never a wise thing to bet against Mahomes in the playoffs and it’ll be hard to doubt him when he sees the San Francisco 49ers in two weeks.
