As the Kansas City Chiefs battled their way all the way back to the Super Bowl in 2023, they had a new fan supporting them along the way: International pop star Taylor Swift.

She began dating Chiefs tight end Travis earlier this year and attended a lot of their games, much to the dismay of some NFL fans around the country.

Online criticism of Swift boiled after the AFC championship game, but Kelce told ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” that the two are just supporting each other and have enjoyed a great year together in their new relationship.

“We’re just two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it,” Kelce said. “I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends. It’s been nothing but just a wonderful year.”

Public outcry for Swift and Kelce have been mostly met with confusion and disdain from the NFL media world, but some pundits have pointed out that her attendance at games is no different from any other celebrity or significant other of someone playing in the game.

But as Kelce says in the video, he and Swift rarely discuss the public discourse around their relationship and her appearance at Chiefs games this year because they’re having a good and happy time together.

The biggest question, now, will be if Swift can swing a trip to Las Vegas to watch Kelce in the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers when she has a few concerts halfway around the world in Japan in the days leading up to the game.
