The Dallas Cowboys need a new defensive coordinator.

With the Washington Commanders hiring Dan Quinn to become their next head coach, Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones will now need to work around the clock to find a suitable replacement.

Nonetheless, according to team legend Michael Irvin, it shouldn’t be that hard to find someone who can hold down the fort.

Talking on Undisputed, Irvin wished Quinn well and thanked him for everything he did during his three-year stint in Arlington.

Nonetheless, he wasn’t that impressed with his work either, which is why he’s not worried about him coaching in the same division as his team.

“I wish Dan Quinn the best. Now it’s time for the Cowboys to find someone to stop the run,” Irvin said.

Irvin pointed out the fact that Quinn’s defense struggled mightily against the run every single year.

With that in mind, he just hopes the Cowboys can find someone who can help them stop the run once and for all, especially considering how bad they looked against Aaron Jones and the Green Bay Packers in their heartbreaking loss in the Wild Card round.

This is an issue that has haunted Quinn for most of his career.

It is a fact that his teams are vulnerable against the run.

Then again, the Commanders have the most cap space in the league entering the offseason and a solid defensive line, so he’s going to have more than enough resources to address that situation and fix whatever issue needs to be fixed to at least try an contend in the NFC East.
