The Dallas Cowboys are widely considered to be “America’s Team,” with the storied NFL franchise being arguably the most popular professional sports team in this country with fans all over the world.
Even though the Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl title since the 90s, Jerry Jones’ team is still incredibly popular, with their every move watched by the fans and the media during the season and throughout the NFL offseason.
Although the Cowboys still own the distinction of “America’s Team” in the eyes of many, Chris Broussard of FOX Sports believes there are three professional sports teams in the United States that can be called that or at least be in the same category.
However, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are not one of those teams, says Broussard, as he believes the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Yankees are in the same category as the Cowboys, via “First Things First.”
“The Chiefs are the new hotness. But they are not America’s team. The Cowboys are STILL America’s Team. The Chiefs are like Jordan’s Bulls. There are 3 America’s Teams: the Yankees, the Lakers and the Cowboys.”

Broussard definitely has a point, as all three of those teams are immensely popular and have enormous fanbases around the world due to the history of winning for the franchises.
The Lakers are tied for an NBA-best 17 titles with the Boston Celtics, while the Yankees have 27 World Series titles, which is far and away the most in MLB.
Interestingly, the Cowboys have only five Super Bowl titles, which pale in comparison to the number of titles won by the Lakers and Yankees.
