The Miami Dolphins had one of the best defensive minds in the game as their defensive coordinator.
But some players didn’t see eye-to-eye with Vic Fangio, who was let go after just one year in the position.
The former Denver Broncos head coach later signed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to become their next DC, replacing Sean Desai and Matt Patricia and stating that he always wanted to be closer to home.
Now, the Dolphins have managed to get their hands around one of the best and most sought-after defensive coaches in the league: Anthony Weaver.

According to a report by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Dolphins convinced Weaver to jump ship.
The Baltimore Ravens wanted to keep their associate head coach and defensive line coach, but the Dolphins wound up winning the race.
Weaver was a head coaching candidate in this coaching cycle and was one of the finalists to get the nod with the Washington Commanders before they hired Dan Quinn.
The Ravens had the best defense in the league his season by several metrics, and Weaver had plenty to do with that.
The Dolphins’ offense was never much of an issue, but they struggled to keep opposing teams away from the endzone as well.
As for John Harbaugh’s team, they’ve also lost defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald to the Seattle Seahawks’ head coach job, so that defense could take a big hit next season.
