The San Francisco 49ers have more than enough talent to beat every single team in the league.
However, they have dug themselves into some big holes early in playoff games, and while they have been able to overcome their slow starts and end up on top, that’s not something they can afford to do in the Super Bowl.
That’s why QB Brock Purdy wants his team to hit the ground running and come out of the gate firing on all cylinders, knowing that the Kansas City Chiefs will be no joke (via ProFootballTalk).
“I feel like all of us, we’re sort of learning just that chip on our shoulder, the mindset of our backs being against the wall and we need it,” Purdy said. “That’s when our best style of ball comes out and we all step up to the plate and play our best. So, whatever that mindset is early on, we need to get to it.”

The former Mr. Irrelevant knows that his defense works at it’s best when his players have that killer mentality, so he wants them to be at their best as soon as they hit the field.
Purdy also left a lot to be desired early in both postseason games, drawing plenty of criticism and raising several questions about his ability to get this team back on the mountain.
Then again, he’s also been spectacular when his team has needed a game-winning drive, and he continues to have the support of his teammates and coaching staff.
As for the Chiefs, they’re coming off a subpar second half vs. the Baltimore Ravens, at least offensively, as they weren’t able to score a single point.
Still, they’re a battle-proven team, and they continue to find ways to get the job done when it matters the most, and you never want to give Andy Reid or Patrick Mahomes any sort of edge or early start.
