The New York Knicks currently sit in third in the Eastern Conference and are looking more and more like a legitimate postseason threat.
The Knicks have a clear identity and brand of basketball they play under head coach Tom Thibodeau and the team is filled with gritty, two-way players.
Despite an injury to Julius Randle that is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks, New York continues to win games and it’s largely due to Jalen Brunson, who’s having a career year.
Brunson has been one of the most underrated guards in the NBA for years now, but is finally getting his time to shine in the limelight as he was selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career.
The point guard is averaging a career-high 27.1 points per game and is the rock of the Knicks roster.
Former New York guard John Starks expressed how happy he is that the team was able to sign Brunson last year, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“I’m glad we got him. I’m glad Dallas decided not to pay him,” Starks said.

Starks knows what it’s like to star for a team like the Knicks and Brunson is following in his footsteps as the clear-cut leader of the team.
Despite being undersized, Brunson has a knack for getting to the rim and hitting tough jumpers in high-pressure moments.
He is a throwback sort of point guard who doesn’t play as fast or flashy as his peers, but finds ways to be productive on the floor.
Knicks fans are enjoying the season and it’ll be exciting to see how far Brunson can take them.
