Now that longtime owner Daniel Snyder’s reign has come to an end, the Washington Commanders are hoping to right the ship under new team owner Josh Harris and his ownership group, which includes Magic Johnson.
Even though the 2023 campaign was forgettable, to say the least, the storied franchise has a good opportunity to make some solid moves this offseason, with the team already taking care of the coaching staff by bringing in Dan Quinn and Kliff Kingsbury.
One major move the Commanders can make during the NFL offseason is upgrading the quarterback position, with the team owning the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Although the Commanders are currently in line to draft either Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels at No. 2, Washington can try to trade up to get the top pick from the Chicago Bears and bring in USC superstar Caleb Williams, reuniting him with Kingsbury.
LeSean McCoy of FOX Sports believes the Commanders need to go after Williams and pull out all the stops to make it happen, via “Speak” on FS1.
“If you are trying to rebuild, this is the first way to do it. Go get you a superstar generational quarterback like Caleb Williams,” McCoy said.

With Williams looking like a potential NFL superstar right out of the gate and the perfect quarterback to build a franchise around, Washington has the ideal opportunity to bring him in if they can convince the Bears to part with the top pick, which Chicago did last year.
Bringing in Williams would be a game-changer for the Commanders and would immediately thrust this team into the spotlight, which would help the rebuilding process.
