Before star defensive tackle Chris Jones played a single snap for the Kansas City Chiefs this season, he was in a contract dispute with the team, as he felt he wasn’t getting paid what he deserved after a solid season that resulted in a Super Bowl title for the franchise.

Ultimately, Jones missed the entire NFL preseason and one regular-season game before returning to the field for the Chiefs with a newly signed one-year deal with the team that was heavily incentive-based.

Even though it wasn’t the lucrative long-term deal that he desired, Jones seemed content with the agreement he made with Kansas City and played well during the 16 games he played during the 2023 campaign, finishing with 10.5 sacks.

Obviously, with his deal only being for one year, Jones will become an unrestricted free agent once again during this upcoming NFL offseason and admits he doesn’t know what the future holds for him, as he’s focused on winning another Super Bowl ring, according to Aaron Ladd of KSHB 41 News.

“If it is, it is. If it’s not, it’s not. I haven’t really thought about it. I’m thinking about winning a Super Bowl,” Jones said on the topic of this potentially being his final game with the Chiefs.

Is this Chris Jones’ last game with the #Chiefs?

With Jones proving to be worth the money while once again being a solid contributor for the Chiefs, it’ll be interesting to see if the two sides can agree on another deal or if he looks to cash in elsewhere.

Jones will be a desirable free agent if he hits the open market, and plenty of teams will likely show interest in his services.
