Most agree that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and there’s no question as to why, as he won seven Super Bowl championships in his 23 pro seasons.
But over the last few years, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs has been forging an outstanding resume of his own.
He has won two Super Bowls in the previous four seasons, including last year, and this Sunday, he could win his third world championship to go along with his two regular-season MVP awards.
At age 28, Mahomes is climbing the ladder as far as the greatest QBs ever, and on FS1’s “Speak,” LeSean McCoy said he’s already the second-greatest signal-caller ever.
“The best quarterback, since the best quarterback retired, is Patrick Mahomes,” McCoy said.

Plenty would argue with McCoy placing Mahomes over Joe Montana, who won four Vince Lombardi Trophies and three Super Bowl MVP awards while being universally considered the greatest QB ever until Brady’s later years.
But at age 28, Mahomes already has a resume that is better than most who have ever played the game.
Montana’s former team, the San Francisco 49ers, will take on Mahomes’ Chiefs in this Sunday’s big game, and it will be the fourth time in five years Mahomes has gotten there.
While the Chiefs are looking to solidify themselves as a dynasty, San Francisco is looking to recapture the glory it enjoyed during Montana’s playing days and win it all.
Their quarterback, Brock Purdy, has reminded fans of Montana thanks to not only his acumen but also his cool under pressure and his two come-from-behind wins in the playoffs to get his team to this point.
