The Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz currently have strong and obvious ties.
Danny Ainge left the TD Garden to take the reins in Utah, and his relationship with Brad Stevens is more than well-documented.
With that in mind, it wouldn’t be shocking to see these two teams engaged in trade talks as we approach the trade deadline.
According to Celtics insider Brian Robb, the Celtics are showing an interest in a trio of Jazz veterans, namely Kelly Olynyk, Kris Dunn, and Simone Fontecchio (Via NBA Central).

The Celtics already have the most stacked lineup in the league, but they could add some more depth.
They don’t want to leave anything to chance, as they’ve been knocking on the door of another NBA championship for quite a while now, but to no avail.
Apparently, they’re looking to address their lack of depth at the point guard position, which is unsurprising, as Payton Pritchard doesn’t give them all that much on offense.
As for Olynyk and Fontecchio, they might be interested in their ability to stretch the floor with their shooting, which has also been an issue in the second unit, with Sam Hauser as the only reliable three-point shooter coming off the bench.
Olynyk is familiar with Stevens and vice versa, getting his career started in Boston.
It’ll be interesting to see if this trade comes true and how much are the Celtics willing to give to get their hands on some of the Jazz’s veterans.
