Chiefs Make 2 Roster Moves Ahead Of Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs have plenty at stake in this year’s Super Bowl — namely, a shot at back-to-back world championships and their third in five seasons, which would make them, in the eyes of many, a dynasty.

Other than star tight end Travis Kelce’s relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, the focus seems to be on Kansas City’s wide receivers and whether they can show the type of productivity they seldom had this season.

Unlike in past years, they have a group of young and unproven wideouts, including Skyy Moore, a second-year man out of Western Michigan University.

The Chiefs activated Moore on Wednesday, presumably with the intention of playing him in the big game versus the San Francisco 49ers, per ProFootballTalk.

The team also put defensive end Charles Omenihu on the injured list — he had 7.0 sacks, 11 quarterback hits, and five tackles for loss in 11 games before tearing his ACL in the AFC Championship Game.

Moore was a second-round draft pick in 2022, and this year, he caught 21 passes for 244 yards and one touchdown.

He has been out of action since mid-December due to a knee injury, and despite being designated to return about a month later, he tweaked his knee and was unable to play in the first three rounds of the playoffs.

The Chiefs’ wideouts this season have dropped many passes, especially in crunch time and other crucial situations, and it has been a big concern for a team that no longer has Tyreek Hill or even JuJu Smith-Schuster to lean on.

But quarterback Patrick Mahomes always seems to make something out of nothing when he needs to, and for that reason, it is hard to pick against the Chiefs, no matter who he has to pass the football to.
