The San Francisco 49ers have been favored in every single game this season, Super Bowl included.

That speaks volumes of how much talent they have on their roster.

Also, the fact that they have been able to overcome big deficits in both playoff games before the Super Bowl makes it seem like they just have enough firepower to get past any team in the league.

However, they don’t want to dig themselves into a big hole against Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to Matt Ryan, who knows Kyle Shanahan pretty well from their previous work together and the Niners’ No. 1 priority for the big game will be to get off to a fast start (via NFL on CBS).

Talking on CBS Sports, the former MVP claimed that, knowing Shanahan, he already has fifteen plays scripted for the beginning of the game and the start of the second half, citing that it’s just the way he operates.

The Niners’ defense has been far from stellar early in games in the playoffs, and while they’ve been able to turn the corner and get the job done, they haven’t faced Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs also boast a championship-caliber defense under Steve Spagnuolo, and Andy Reid isn’t known for blowing leads or not making adjustments.

The Niners already got the worst of this matchup four years ago, and Shanahan will have a tough time turning the narrative around about him if he doesn’t get the job done this time around.
