The Los Angeles Lakers added plenty of depth to their roster in the offseason.

They thought they were adding the missing pieces they needed to get back to the Western Conference Finals and get the job done this time.

Fast forward to today, and it’s become painfully evident that they don’t have that kind of roster.

With that in mind, it’s not so shocking to see that they’re looking to move on from some of the guys they brought in months ago.

According to NBA insider Brett Siegel, they’re reportedly exploring trade opportunities involving Gabe Vincent and Christian Wood (via NBA Central).

Vincent has been yet another player who has struggled to find his footing after leaving Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat.

To be fair, however, he’s been hurt for most of the season, struggling with a knee injury.

As for Wood, his lone impressive season with the Detroit Pistons looks more and more like a mirage nowadays.

He couldn’t keep the momentum with the Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks, and he’s failed to make the most of his opportunities in Los Angeles as well, playing mostly behind Jaxson Hayes.

Needless to say, neither of these players hold any sort of value in the trade market right now, so don’t expect them to be involved in any major transactions.

Even so, the Lakers could look to dump them and find other spare parts that may fit their current roster better, but they might not be able to find someone who actually moves the needle for their championship-contention chances.
