The New York Giants have a big decision to make about Saquon Barkley.

Barkley is an elite running back, and he proved again to be a difference-maker last season.

However, the big question around him will always be his injury-proneness, and he did miss some games in the campaign as well.

The Giants have been reluctant to offer him a multi-year deal, and it seems like the only way they could bring him back is by placing him under the franchise tag again.

That’s why NFL analyst Harry Douglas believes he should take his talents to the AFC South instead and team up with C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Douglas made a case for the Penn State star to leave the Big Apple.

Notably, Barkley had repeatedly talked about his desire to stay with the G-Men for the remainder of his career, but that may no longer be the case.

He’s talked about how this situation made him realize that this is all about business and there’s no loyalty, so he could see himself now donning another team’s jersey.

Needless to say, the Texans would make sense, as they didn’t have any sort of a running game last season.

Then again, it wasn’t due to a lack of talent at running back, as Dameon Pierce has proven to be a game-changer when healthy as well.

They need to address their subpar offensive line first before even thinking of adding more firepower to the RB corps.

Whatever the case, Barkley might only be able to get his true market value or a lucrative deal if he plays under the franchise tag, as teams have been reluctant to pay running backs lately, so that’s another factor to consider.
