The Dallas Cowboys went through every step of their yearly cycle this season.
The fans got hyped up, the team played very well against bad teams, and they crumbled under pressure in the playoffs.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
That’s been the case for quite a while in Jerry World, and most people thought it was about time HC Mike McCarthy was shown the door.
With that in mind, former QB Tony Romo talked about how the team is on the verge of finally getting the job done, claiming that they cannot be that good year in and year out without breaking through at some point.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith went out of his way to call him out.
Talking on “First Take,” the outspoken pundit — and well-known Cowboys critic– claimed that Romo should have some self-awareness and not talk about the Cowboys needing to get the job done because he didn’t get the job done every single time he had a chance to do it.

Notably, the Cowboys’ shortcomings date a long way back, and Romo didn’t find much more success than Dak Prescott.
Still, perhaps people should take a look at the bigger picture and find a common factor between the Romo and the Prescott era, and that’s Jerry Jones.
Jones has made every single decision, both minor and major, and he’s made a grand total of zero Super Bowl appearances in nearly three decades.
So, yes, the Cowboys might break through once and for all, but they could also be on the verge of collapsing and starting over again.
