The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready for the Super Bowl on Sunday, their fourth appearance in the past five years.
They have been one of the best teams in the NFL all season, and their defense has been especially impressive.
Patrick Mahomes and the offense are typically the biggest story with this team, but the defense, as a whole, has looked like the better unit for most of the season.
This is why the general manager, Brett Veach, is prioritizing two defensive players in free agency this offseason.
Veach was asked about his plans for his main defensive stars by reporters in Las Vegas.
According to Veach via Around The NFL and ESPN, “I don’t know how we’re going to do this,” adding, “Certainly, Chris and LJ are at the top of the list.”

Chris Jones and L’Jarius Sneed have been two of the best defensive players in the league this season.
Jones is viewed as a top defensive tackle, and Sneed has turned into an exceptional cornerback.
Both players will be in for a big payday, but it will be interesting if they take a slight hometown discount to stay with the Chiefs, or if they’ll test the open market and see what awaits them there.
Winning another Super Bowl could be a big deciding factor for these two players.
Mahomes seems to find success every season, including those where the offense is slightly less potent than they have been in years past.
Will either Sneed or Jones take a chance with another organization, knowing what the Chiefs have done as of late?
