The Los Angeles Lakers have done everything in their power to make sure LeBron James retires as a member of their organization.
Notably, the Golden State Warriors had different plans.
A report by Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelbourne revealed that they actually tried to trade for him, which obviously didn’t happen.
With that in mind, Skip Bayless stated that this might have been Draymond Green’s idea, and he explained why he thinks James politely declined this approach.
Talking on Undisputed, Bayless stated that LeBron could’ve made this happen because he holds all the cards, adding that Jeanie Buss doesn’t want anyone there who doesn’t want to be a Laker, so she would’ve given him a blessing as well.

“LeBron could’ve made this happen because he holds all the cards. But 2 things are true: Bronny plays at USC and AD is star power.” pic.twitter.com/mhUitHiduZ

Nonetheless, Bronny is playing at USC, so LeBron likely wouldn’t want to leave his firstborn.
But more than that, he thinks that the Lakers have a better shot at winning a championship right now, calling Anthony Davis a top-five player when he’s plugged in for the way he can impact the game on both ends of the floor, adding that he’s an even more valuable player than James right now.
Bayless stated that James is ‘the King of LA’ and the king of entertainment, and he must think he has a better shot at winning another ring with this core than with the very same team he beat in the playoffs last season.
