The Golden State Warriors tried to make a league-shaking move.

According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelbourne, the Warriors tried to trade for LeBron James.

Notably, sports analyst Colin Cowherd wasn’t exactly surprised that the trade didn’t happen.

Talking on his show, he stated that the Lakers actually match up well with any team in the Western Conference and even some Eastern Conference championship contenders because of their size and their defense, which is not something the Warriors can say.

“I’ve never thought trading Lebron makes sense.  Why would you give the Warriors of all teams a life preserver?” Cowherd said.

“This feels like one of those 2K trades.”

The Warriors didn’t have enough assets to trade for LeBron in the first place, says Cowherd, deeming this an ‘NBA 2K trade.’

Per Cowherd, LeBron knows that the Lakers aren’t that far behind in the championship race, as they won the In-Season Tournament, and they have a better shot at winning a ring than the Warriors do right now.

He understands why the Warriors would test the waters to try and gauge LeBron’s value, especially with all the rumors about his discontent.

Then again, this just didn’t make any sense for the Lakers or James, so it wasn’t much of a surprise to see it not happen.
