The Los Angeles Clippers have a bit of a problem on their hands.
Veteran F/C P.J. Tucker isn’t happy with his current situation.
Tucker urged the Clippers to trade him before the trade deadline, but there were either no takers or no good deals in place for him.
He hasn’t played much this season, and he still believes he could contribute to a contender.
Given the circumstances, coach Tyronn Lue took a friendly jab at him.
He stated that he understands why Tucker is frustrated, adding that he’s ’70 years old,’ and could just ride into the sunset, yet he still wants to play (via NBA Central).
“When you’ve got guys like PJ, who have another year left on his deal, he can ride off into the sunset, he’s 70 years old. But he wants to play, he wants to compete. And so you understand that you want guys like that.”

The former NBA Champion has fallen out of the rotation completely.
Usually, out of respect, teams grant veteran players their wish, and no championship team wants to have a disgruntled player messing up the chemistry in the locker room.
Still, it seems like Tucker is at a crossroads right now.
He’s not going to be waived, and he cannot be traded anymore.
So, his only option to suit up and play this season is to agree to a buyout, even if that means giving up on some of his well-earned money.
