The Boston Celtics are the best team in the NBA right now and on Wednesday night, they beat the Brooklyn Nets by a staggering 50 points.
On Thursday’s episode of The Herd, Colin Cowherd plainly laid out his expectations for the team.
“They don’t do many things poorly. They’re a dominant team,” Cowherd stated before listing their amazing record for the season so far.
However, he added that if the Celtics aren’t able to go all the way to the NBA Finals and get at least very close to winning it all, he is “done listening to ‘this is what they’re gonna be.’ Instead, I’ll shift to ‘this is what they are.’”
“There are no excuses,” he added.

One can understand why Cowherd feels the way that he does.
For years now, the Celtics have been one of the most competitive teams in the league.
A few years ago, they went all the way to the Finals and last season they went as far as the Eastern Conference Finals and nearly reached the championship again.
They were once considered an up-and-coming team but they are now a mature and dominant one that has everything it needs to win.
Cowherd listed the team’s biggest competition in the East and gave multiple reasons why the Celtics should be able to move past all of them.
They truly are in a great position to go all the way this year and anything short of strong postseason success will be viewed as a major disappointment.
If the Celtics do not come close to a championship in 2023-24, there will be many people wondering if they can ever pull off an ultimate victory.
It would cause some serious concerns and doubts about what this team can truly accomplish.
