The Los Angeles Clippers seem to be thriving this season, to the surprise of many.
Looking at their roster, many people thought they had too many personalities to be successful.
It started with Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook.
Then the Clippers added James Harden in an early-season trade.
Harden has fit in seamlessly and the Clippers find themselves in third place in the West and only 1.5 games out of first.
One player who was also in that Harden trade to the Clippers was P.J. Tucker.
Tucker has been given almost no playing time for the Clippers.
He has appeared in 14 games and averages only 14.4 minutes per game.
That is why Tucker decided to publicly demand a trade.
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to do that in the NBA without repercussions.
According to Shams Charania, Tucker was fined $75,000 for a public trade demand on February 5.

That is a hefty fine to pay for Tucker who has not spent much time on the floor this season.
Also, the trade deadline has come and gone without Tucker getting moved, so he will have to spend the rest of the season as a Clipper unless he is released.
It is clear things are not working out in LA, so the best course of action may be a buy-out.
That would allow Tucker to be released and find another team to sign with.
We have seen many players demand trades over the years.
But, when you do it publicly that is when the NBA cracks down on it.
