The NFL’s free agency period will not officially open until March.

But, every team is looking at the potential free agents and who they might be interested in signing.

One name that is being floated around a bunch is that of quarterback Kirk Cousins.

He seems to be the top free-agent option at quarterback and someone many teams should be interested in.

One issue with Cousins is that he is coming off a serious Achilles injury.

While he should be good to start the season, every player comes back from that injury differently.

According to Ari Meirov, two teams seem to be the most logical landing spots for Cousins.

They are the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons.

Meirov said that Cousins’ wife is from Atlanta and Cousins likes to play in a dome.

The #Falcons are very interesting. Kirk Cousins’ wife is from Atlanta, and he’s mentioned in the past that he likes playing in domed stadiums. They would make some sense if Minnesota can’t bring him back. https://t.co/8PmIOjMUvj

Also, the Falcons have a major need at quarterback.

Last season, they trotted out both Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke.

Neither did a great job nor is the long-term solution in Atlanta.

While Cousins is entering his age-36 season, he could be a stop-gap for a few years until the Falcons find the quarterback of the future.

Also, playing in the NFC South, Cousins would be able to make the Falcons a contender in that division.

But, Cousins will first have to decide if he is ready to leave Minnesota.

He has had some great years as a Viking, but they may not be willing to give him a long-term deal.

Seeing where Cousins ends up will be one of the major talking points this offseason.
