The NBA MVP award is a prestigious honor that every athlete in the league wants to win at some point in their respective careers.
But considering the award is only given to the best player in the entire regular season, it makes it extremely difficult to achieve.
Every year, there are a few players who are in the MVP race from the very first game of the season.
This season, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics has been a mainstay in the MVP race.
But can Tatum win the award? Well, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins has ensured that he will vote for the Celtics superstar at the end of the season on one condition, as revealed via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston on Twitter.
“If the Celtics finish with the #1 seed overall… Tatum is getting my vote,” Perkins said.

Well, as it turns out, the Celtics are currently the number-one seed in the Eastern Conference.
On top of that, they have a league-best 43-12 record heading into the All-Star break.
While Tatum has helped the Celtics in becoming the best team this season, he also has strong competition for the award.
Tatum is currently averaging 27.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game for the Celtics.
