The Golden State Warriors haven’t had their usual success this season.
Stephen Curry continues to play lights out, but the rest of the supporting cast hasn’t brought their A-game on a consistent basis.
Nonetheless, they’ve looked much better as of late, and it all has had to do with Steve Kerr finally coming to terms with the fact that he had to shake up his lineup.
Jonathan Kuminga has proven to be up to the task, and he’s earned the right to have plays called for him and get more involved in the offensive flow of the game.
With that in mind, Draymond Green tipped his hat to his young teammate, praising him during All-Star Saturday and talking about how good it’s been to see him taking a leap forward (Via NBA on TNT).
“I say there’s two guys in the NBA who doesn’t have anything left to prove and that’s Steph and LeBron… but Jonathan Kuminga has been the key to our success,” Green said.

Kuminga drew rave reviews during the offseason, and it seemed like it was now or never for him.
However, he didn’t get many opportunities early in the campaign, up to the point where he went on record to call Steve Kerr out, and some thought he was ready to force his way out of the Bay area.
He obviously didn’t handle his frustration very well, and there’s no way a player — let alone an unproven and young player — should put his coach on blast in front of the media.
Still, it’s been nice to see that Kuminga has been able to turn the corner, and this could be his team once Stephen Curry is ready to ride into the sunset.
