What LeBron James has done in and for the NBA will be hard to match.
We’ve seen players such as Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, and Vince Carter have long and successful careers, and we’ve also seen guys like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar staying relevant deep into their playing days.
Nonetheless, James is making history every single time he sets foot on the court, raising the bar game after game and putting the all-time scoring record more out of reach.
That’s why Kevin Durant had to give his lifelong foe his flowers.
Talking on the Boardroom, the two-time NBA champion stated that he appreciates LeBron’s love for the game and longevity, pointing out the fact that he’s been in the league for over half of his life, yet he continues to wake up every single day to do what he does (via Bleacher Report).
“That longevity has to mean something,” Durant said.

He’s in awe of how James has been able to stay relevant despite having played against almost 40% of all NBA players, and the fact that he still wants to do it speaks volumes about his work ethic and passion.
James might not be everybody’s favorite player, and he shouldn’t be exempt from criticism for his many shortcomings.
Then again, he also has a case for being the most accomplished player ever, and there’s simply no way to write basketball history without bringing his name up countless times along the way.
James continues to write and re-write history, and the craziest part is that he might still not be done for another couple of years or so.
