NBA All-Star Weekend has come and gone, with many NBA fans feeling some way about what went down in Indiana, as the events that took place over the weekend were underwhelming, to say the least.
Even though the three-point shootout was entertaining, with superstar guard Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks winning the competition for a second straight year, and the showdown between WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was better than expected, everything else fell flat.
The Slam Dunk competition was seen as a joke by many even though Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown threw his hat into the ring, who was the first star of his caliber to do so in quite some time.
Then the NBA All-Star Game was even worse, with every player on the floor jacking up threes for the entirety of the game, with no one on the basketball floor playing a lick of defense.
With another forgettable All-Star Weekend in the books, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins went scorched earth when talking about the festivities over the weekend, via NBA on ESPN.
“To be honest, it was embarrassing, and it was disrespectful to the game of basketball and to the NBA,” Perkins said.

It is a bit of a stretch to say that it was “disrespectful” when regarding the events that were put on, but he’s right to say it was “embarrassing” because zero effort was put into anything outside of the three-point shootout.
Hopefully, for the sake of the league and its fans, Adam Silver and company can come up with a way to fix things moving forward.
