The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of the biggest surprise teams in the NFL during the 2023 season, as the team proved to be resilient after losing superstar quarterback Tom Brady to retirement.
Fortunately, the Buccaneers were able to replace Brady with a motivated Baker Mayfield, who knew that his stint in Tampa Bay may be his last chance to prove he’s still a starting-caliber player at the quarterback position on the NFL level.
Along with Mayfield being better than expected, the Buccaneers got another impressive performance out of veteran wide receiver Mike Evans, who recorded his 10th straight season with 1,000 receiving yards or more.
Ahead of the 2023 campaign, Evans and the Buccaneers had the opportunity to get a contract extension done, but nothing came to fruition, meaning he can test NFL free agency this offseason.
Now it seems as though the odds favor Evans leaving Tampa Bay this offseason, with the Houston Texans being the team favored to sign him, according to uSTADIUM’s Twitter account with odds from Bookies.com.

With Evans being one of the most consistent wide receivers in the NFL, as he puts up numbers every single season, he’ll be a hot commodity on the open market, with Houston being an ideal fit for the veteran wideout.
Although C.J. Stroud has some weapons on the Texans roster, adding Evans into the mix would be a potential game-changer for Houston, as he’ll give them a consistent threat downfield and a go-to player in the passing game.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out with Evans and what teams emerge as potential suitors.
