Kevin Durant was a member of the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007-08, right before the team officially changed names and headed down to Oklahoma City.
Since then, numerous NBA fans have been pleading with the league to have another team located in Seattle.
Speaking with Boardroom, via ClutchPoints, Durant made it very clear that the would love to be involved with the SuperSonics if the team did get revived in the future.
“Without a doubt,” Durant said when asked if he’d be a part of the franchise in one way or another.
Durant then said that he’d love to help lead the team after he retired from playing.
“To help run the team… that’s a dream come true,” he said.
He continued: “That’s probably one of the only things that I would really lock in like I was playing again.”

Durant’s statement is a strong confirmation that he wants the SuperSonics back in Seattle and also hopes to assist them in becoming a big NBA franchise again.
He said that he fully believes the team is on its way back and should be part of the Western Conference soon.
Durant isn’t alone; many NBA analysts and writers predict that Commissioner Adam Silver will announce an expansion team in Seattle within the next few years.
Durant is now 35 years old and retirement is beginning to loom.
But his comment about the SuperSonics shows that he might be involved with the NBA for years after he hangs up his jersey.
He got his start in Seattle and still cares deeply about the city so it only makes sense that when he’s done playing on the court he gets to work behind the scenes with the SuperSonics.
