Before the Golden State Warriors became a legitimate dynasty with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green becoming one of the best trios in NBA history and Steve Kerr one of the best head coaches we’ve ever seen, this team was led by Mark Jackson.

Jackson was the head coach who came to the Bay Area and helped get this team going and firing on all cylinders, but after three seasons and two trips to the NBA playoffs, the Warriors decided to move on from him.

Unfortunately for Jackson, despite what he accomplished with Golden State, he hasn’t gotten another coaching job since.

However, Green appears to have come to Jackson’s defense recently on his podcast when talking to former NBA player Jamal Crawford, claiming that the former Warriors head coach gave them the confidence to be who they were rather than what others wanted them to be, via The Volume.

Even though Green gave Jackson some high praise here, there’s definitely a reason why he’s not gotten another coaching job in the league despite interviewing for coaching vacancies year after year.

The simple fact may be that Jackson is difficult to work with, which has prevented him from taking the helm of another franchise, even if it was with some of the worst teams in the league.

Obviously, the door isn’t closed for Jackson as he may get an opportunity down the road, but for now, he remains without a coaching gig.
