Kevin Durant’s NBA legacy is a complicated subject to debate.
No one can deny his impact and talent as one of the greatest — perhaps even the greatest — scorer in NBA history.
Some might try to discredit his two NBA championships because of the fact that he joined the 73-win Golden State Warriors, but that would be unfair.
Durant played a huge role in those two rings, and even his biggest critic would have to acknowledge that.
However, as great a player as he is, Durant has driven some fans away with the way he’s dealt with criticism.
That’s why Stephen A. Smith didn’t agree with his take on not having been given enough credit for what he’s done because he’s not as charismatic as other players.
Talking on First Take, he explained that everybody acknowledges and reveres Durant for his basketball skills and what he’s done for the game.
“I think he’s been given exactly the credit he deserves,” Smith said.

Smith claimed that he’s said the very same thing to Durant’s face multiple times, and fans would respect him more if he wasn’t whining on social media all the time.
At the end of the day, no one will be able to say that Durant isn’t a superstar.
Whether that means people will like him or even respect him as anything other than a basketball player might be a whole different story.
