During his NBA career, superstar guard Allen Iverson was one of the best players in the league, even though he was looking up at most of his opponents while standing about six-feet tall and probably no more than 160 pounds or so.
Iverson made a name for himself as one of the toughest players in the NBA, as he was absolutely fearless driving to the basket in an era that was much more physical than today’s game, where players seem to barely get touched on drives.
As a result of Iverson’s relentless attacking and incredible scoring ability, he became an icon and one of the most revered players of his era while battling the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O’Neal.
With the Hall of Famer being one of the most respected players of his era, Iverson recently made an appearance on “The Big Podcast with Shaq” to talk about his career, amongst many other topics, including who he has in his all-time starting five.
Iverson went with two modern players, Stephen Curry and LeBron James, followed by players more from his generation, like Bryant, Jordan, and O’Neal, via NBACentral.

That’s a pretty solid list, with three players in the mix for the greatest player of all time, along with arguably the most dominant big man of all time and the greatest shooter ever to play the game.
Although every great player has their own opinion on the best starting five, this is one of the best combinations in recent memory and perhaps the best.
