With two-thirds of the NBA season already in the history books, some of the early-year predictions are also a thing of the past.
Plenty of things have transpired ever since.
Some players have exceeded expectations and others not so much, and with injuries and the way some teams have performed, it’s officially time to make some new predictions.
With that in mind, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins shared his updated list of predictions for the remainder of the season (via NBA on ESPN).

He has Norman Powell of the Los Angeles Clippers running away with the Sixth Man of the Year distinction, which isn’t much of a hot take, as he’s currently averaging 13.4 points on almost 50% from the floor for a championship contender.
He also has Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic winning the scoring title, and he’s definitely on pace to do so, as he’s averaging a whopping 34.2 points per game.
Unsurprisingly, Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers is the biggest candidate to take home the Most Improved Player of the Year award, as his averages went from 20.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game last season all the way to 25.7 points, 3.7 boards, and 6.4 dimes with one steal per game.
Perkins also has Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves making history by tying Ben Wallace and Dikembe Mutombo with his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award.
Last but not least, he has Jayson Tatum putting an end to the Boston Celtics’ MVP award drought by taking the trophy home at the end of the season.
