The Pittsburgh Steelers could be in the market for a new quarterback.
Justin Fields and Russell Wilson are the likeliest candidates to join Mike Tomlin’s team, according to analysts and oddsmakers alike.
With that in mind, former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum made a case for them going after the Chicago Bears quarterback.
Talking on First Take, the former GM claimed that he would absolutely love to see Fields working with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
He explained that Smith helped Ryan Tannehill have the two best seasons of his career, and he believes they’re actually somewhat similar in the sense they’re both big, strong, and athletic and can make plays outside of the pocket.

He also believes that the Steelers have similar personnel to those of the Tennessee Titans, with Jaylen Warren, Najee Harris, Diontae Johnson, and George Pickens around Fields.
Truth be told, Fields looks like a match made in heaven for the Steelers.
He’s still young, and he was an elite prospect for most of his high school and collegiate career, and he’s shown glimpses of greatness despite the Bears’ never-ending offensive struggles.
Mike Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the game, and he’s been able to stay competitive despite having arguably the worst quarterback room in the league, so one can only imagine what he could be capable of if the team gets him a franchise-caliber quarterback again.
Still, they’re going to face some competition for his services, but there’s no denying that they should go all-in to land the Ohio State product.
