During his time with the University of Southern California, superstar running back Reggie Bush took college football by storm, as he was one of the most electrifying athletes ever seen on the gridiron.
Although Bush had a storybook career at USC and was able to turn it into a career in the NFL that lasted more than a decade, his legacy at the program was tarnished after it was discovered that he took cash and gifts while he was playing for the prestigious school.
Bush had to surrender the Heisman Trophy he won, which now all seems ridiculous with athletes in college being able to receive endorsements and make an enormous amount of money in the process before moving to the professional level.
Fellow Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel believes it is time for the NCAA to give Bush back his Heisman and the distinction of being at the annual event when the next great college player gets the honor, as he said on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe.
“Reggie Bush deserves to be on that stage with us every year,” Manziel said. “One of the best college football players to ever lace them up and a very, very good argument to be the best ever in college football.”

Manziel is on point here, as there is no reason that Bush shouldn’t get what he earned during what was a magical run at USC, which now doesn’t seem as tainted as it was back then.
Hopefully, Bush can get the trophy back while also being able to have the distinction of being one of the winners of the award.
