Friday morning marked the end of the road for NBA star DeMarcus Cousins.
After more than a decade of playing professional basketball, Cousins announced that he was retiring from the league.
Cousins made the following statement:
“I know I’ve had my time there. You know, there was a point where I was trying to make that happen. But the place I’m in my life now, just with everything I’ve got going on, just outside of basketball, like I’m in a good place. So, like I said, I’m excited for what I have ahead and my future.”
He added, “You know, my 12 years in the league were a small chapter or chapters in my life. And, I’m ready to move on to the next and see what’s in store for me.”

Cousins moved all over the association during his tenure and was once known as perhaps the most talented big man playing.
His career average of 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds is exceptional and led to six consecutive All-Star selections.
He started his time in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings.
Following his time in Sacramento, Cousins moved on to the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and more.
His last few seasons saw him bouncing around the NBA and delivering diminished results.
Cousin was often known for his hot-headed attitude and aggressive play style, which both helped and hurt him.
He spent some time playing in Puerto Rico and Taiwan and there were reports of him attempting to make his way back to the NBA.
Those rumors can officially be put to rest now that Cousins has made this announcement.
He leaves behind an impressive career he should be proud of, even if it was ultimately cut a bit short.
