Being a former number two overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, there is no doubt that Kevin Durant was expected to achieve great things during his career.

While Durant is no longer one of the most beloved players in the league due to his decision to join the Golden State Warriors in 2016, there is no one who can deny that the Phoenix Suns superstar is an elite scorer.

In fact, many regard Kevin Durant as arguably the greatest scorer to ever grace the hardwood with his presence.

With that being said, Durant reached a major NBA scoring milestone following the Suns’ 110-114 loss at the hands of the Houston Rockets.

Durant surpassed Carmelo Anthony to clinch the ninth spot on the all-time scoring list, as revealed via the NBA’s official Twitter handle.

Kevin Durant put on a show against the Rockets as he finished the night with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists in 38 minutes of playing time.

Following the incredible performance, Durant now has 28,296 points to his name.

While it’s an incredible achievement to be ninth on the all-time NBA scoring list, many believe that Durant could have been a couple of spots higher if it wasn’t for his injury-riddled seasons over the past few years.

Either way, Durant has undoubtedly made a stunning comeback from the aforementioned trouble, as he is averaging 28.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game for the Suns this season.

As things stand right now, Durant is on pace to play his most games in a regular season since the 2018-19 season when he played 78 games for the Golden State Warriors.
