After the Milwaukee Bucks acquired superstar guard Damian Lillard in a three-way blockbuster trade during the NBA offseason, Giannis Antetokounmpo and company were instantly thrust back into the title-contending discussion in the Eastern Conference.
Even though there were some bumps in the road over the first few months of the season, the Bucks were still able to stay afloat among the top seeds in the East, with only the new-look Boston Celtics looking like the better team in the conference.
In a strange twist of fate, the Bucks fired head coach Adrian Griffin around the halfway point of the regular season, leading to having the most attractive coaching vacancy in the league.
It wasn’t long before the Bucks filled that vacancy with veteran head coach Doc Rivers, as he was arguably the biggest name available, and he didn’t hesitate to take the job when it was offered.
Unfortunately, the Bucks have struggled since bringing on Rivers, which has led to a number of excuses from the 62-year-old and critics like JJ Redick going in on him for these excuses.
On his podcast, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green also went in on Rivers for his excuses for Milwaukee’s struggles.
“You knew what you were signing up for, Doc,” Green said.

The Bucks have lost six of their last 10 games and haven’t looked like the same team since Rivers took over as head coach, which is obviously concerning, especially with the team expected to contend for a title.
Only time will tell if Rivers will work out in Milwaukee and if this team can contend in the East moving forward.
