NFL teams will always be looking for ways to improve on the offensive end given how intricate opposing defenses have gotten.
Head coaches like Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan have found ways to stress out defenses with pre-snap movement and personnel groupings, while play-callers like Ben Johnson have found ways to create space and easy reads.
Wide receivers are often the focal points of offensive schemes, leaving positions like tight end as an afterthought.
However, the 2023 NFL season saw a slight resurgence from the position group as players like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Sam LaPorta showed how tight ends can still be valuable contributors.
With NFL free agency coming up, teams will be scouring the market looking for any players that can give them a leg up on the competition.
As far as tight ends go, there are several intriguing options for teams to consider, via FOX Sports: NFL, including Dalton Schultz, Mike Gesicki, Gerald Everett, Austin Hooper, Hunter Henry, and Noah Fant.

Schultz and Everett are the best pass-catching tight ends available after the seasons they had with the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers, respectively.
Meanwhile, players like Gesicki and Henry are reliable veteran options that shouldn’t break the bank for tight end-needy teams.
Rounding out the group are Hooper and Fant, who were used sparingly with the Las Vegas Raiders and Seattle Seahawks, respectively.
The 2024 NFL Draft also features several quality tight end prospects, but if teams strike out on those then they could do worse than the notable free agents.
