The NBA’s All-Star Game is drastically and quickly losing it’s appeal.
The scoring numbers may go up and the records might be broken, but the fans no longer seem to be interested.
NBA legend Larry Bird urged the players to take it seriously before the game, and Commissioner Adam Silver even said we would watch a competitive matchup, which obviously wasn’t the case.
From then on, multiple people have come up with proposals to make the game good again.
With that in mind, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green shared a very interesting and valid point.
Talking on his podcast, Green claimed that NBA players approach Game Day differently and that it’s actually called Game Day for a reason.
Green believes the league shouldn’t ask the players to do a bunch of things right before the All-Star game.
“If we want this to be a real game, let’s make this a real game day,” Green said.

He thinks offering more money without having their staff there will only lead to players getting hurt, as they will actually start exerting energy and caring about the game, but they won’t be able to get their bodies right and ready to play.
It’s nice to hear a player’s perspective about it, and he might be right on point here.
Of course, the players have already made it loud and clear with their actions that they don’t care about competing, at least not unless there’s a huge check waiting for the winner.
Still, if that’s going to be the approach, the league better make sure the players have everything they need to avoid injury, as that has been their biggest excuse for this game’s lack of intensity.
