Since the moment he made his MLB debut in 2001 with the St. Louis Cardinals until his retirement tour in 2022 with the same team, Albert Pujols knows what it’s like to make history.

He is one of just a select few players with a minimum of three MVP awards to his name, and he is one of the three members of the 700 home run club, with Barry Bonds and Babe Ruth.

He retired with 703 of those, and knew how to entertain the league and its millions of fans all over the world.

Now that he is retired and seeking other endeavors, it’s time for others to follow Pujols’ footsteps and make their own way to stardom.

Formerly a star, Pujols has joined the group of fans who get to enjoy the current players doing their thing.

He was recently asked about the players he enjoys watching the most.

B/R Walk-Off posted a tweet with his answer, which was short, but sweet.

When asked about his favorite players in the league today, Pujols said there are a lot of talented performers, but named four in particular: Julio Rodriguez, Ronald Acuna Jr., Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr.

“The caliber of players coming up through the minor leagues with every organization is amazing. And it’s going to get even better,” he added, knowing that more difference-making stars are on the way up.

Pujols was truly a treat to see during his brilliant career.

Now, it’s time for the new generation to step up, and those four he named are doing a fantastic job.
