The Los Angeles Dodgers won 100 games in 2023.

They also lost in the first round of the playoffs, the Division Series, against a team that had 16 fewer regular-season wins: the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Because of this, LA decided to send a statement to the league.

They signed Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Teoscar Hernandez, and James Paxton, among others.

They also traded for Tyler Glasnow, in case you didn’t think the free agency spending spree was enough.

As a result, now the Dodgers are the clear favorites to win the World Series, even ahead of the 104-win Atlanta Braves and the reigning World Series champs, the Texas Rangers.

FOX Sports: MLB published the most recent World Series odds, and the Dodgers have the best at +320.

Then, the Braves are second at +450, and the Houston Astros are third at +700.

The New York Yankees are fourth at +800, and the Rangers are fifth with +1400 odds.

The D-Backs are 14th, at +4000, which tells us one thing: regular-season performance is one thing, but the playoffs are a different animal.

The Dodgers haven’t had a good playoff performance since 2020, when they won it all against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Putting together such a strong, balanced, and deep roster (we don’t need to remind you that they also have Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Max Muncy, Jason Heyward, Bobby Miller, Walker Buehler, and many, many more All-Star caliber players) puts LA in a better position to succeed in October.

That is, after all, the ultimate goal they have.
