Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs was once again incredible on Sunday night, scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 blocks in a victory over the Indiana Pacers.
For the last few weeks, more and more NBA experts have started to agree that Wembanyama is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year in a few months.
On “Get Up,” Tim Legler said that the Spurs star is far and away the frontrunner.
“The league is in trouble because Victor Wembanyama now is completely comfortable and he got there quicker than anybody thought he would. He now is doing things that really defy logic,” he said.
Legler noted that he sees “two or three things” from Wembanyama every night that just aren’t possible with anyone else.

Legler admitted that he thought Chet Holmgren had a chance of winning Rookie of the Year at the start of the season.
The competition for this prize has been competitive for most of the season, he added.
But it’s now Wembanyama’s to lose, he says, and the player has really found his groove and a level of comfort that is leading to some big and impressive feats.
Wembanyama’s current average is 20.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and a league-high 3.4 blocks per game.
He is clearly showing that he has as much talent as people had hoped.
When the season got started, analysts warned Spurs fans that it would take Wembanyama some time to feel comfortable and acclimated to the NBA.
They said he wouldn’t look like a future Hall of Famer right away.
And while the young star did have an adjustment period, he seems to be beyond that now and is playing terrific basketball night after night and starting to look very confident.
Other players in the league might be in trouble because of Wembanyama, like Legler said.
But fans of the basketball are in for a real treat.
