The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t been the most consistent team in the league this season, and that’s obviously a big concern.
They’ve proven that they can beat good teams when they’re locked in, and they have plenty of defensive potential.
Then again, that might not be enough to get past championship contenders when it actually counts.
That’s why sports analyst Emmanuel Acho believes they’re exactly the same team they were last season.
Talking on FOX’s Speak, Acho stated that this core of players has proven that they can beat young teams in the playoffs, and they could even fight their way to the Western Conference Finals, yet that is their ceiling.
“The Lakers are the EXACT same team they were last year,” Acho said.

Truth be told, that shouldn’t be much of a hot take, as the Lakers didn’t add many important pieces to their core from last season; they just signed some role players.
On top of that, they could fight their way past inexperienced teams, but things could get trickier when they have to play a veteran team with bona fide and proven players.
Whatever the case, this Lakers team doesn’t have the makings of an NBA champion, and it all starts with coaching, so it would be a big surprise to see them getting to the NBA Finals.
