The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns recently engaged in a high-intensity Western Conference matchup.
Considering the majority of the teams in the West are close to each other in terms of records, it was a crucial matchup for the standings.
After four quarters and overtime, the Suns ended up with a win, thanks to late-game heroics by none other than Kevin Durant.
However, apart from Durant, Jusuf Nurkic had a remarkable game and led the team on the defensive end of the court.
After the game, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets shared his honest thoughts on Nurkic’s performance, via DNVR Nuggets on Twitter.

When fans talk about the Suns, most mention the Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal as the most important players for the organization.
However, one player whose contributions have flown under the radar this season is Nurkic.
Nurkic has taken the role of defensive anchor of the team and uses his size to help the Suns play excellent defense.
Jokic shared his take on Nurkic’s role for the Suns and applauded the 29-year-old’s ability to play top-notch defense.
Nurkic finished the game with 7 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists while helping the Suns register a brilliant 117-107 win over the Nuggets.
Following the win, the Suns have improved their record to 36-26 as they hold the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
